Andre - Portrait Session

It all started with a fax. Or perhaps more like 28 faxes. There were a lot.

I met Andre on the very last day at my former "day job" at a local print shop in downtown Portland. I decided to make the bold transition to full time photography, gave my two weeks notice, and was just about to lock up the store for the very last time (tears about to break forth because I'm always super sentimental on the last day of anything!) when Andre walked into my life. He apologized because it was almost closing time, but I didn't mind staying a little late (I was stalling because I was sad to leave anyways). We began the faxing process....one at a time....at the snail-paced dial-up speed of the fax machine. Needless to say, we had time to talk. We hit it off right away and before long I found out that he was an aspiring model hoping to make it big in New York. In fact, he already had his flight booked to visit agencies there, he was just working on building his portfolio in the meantime. I told him that it was actually my very last day working at the print shop, and that as of 15 minutes ago (when the store officially closed) I was now a full time photographer!! The stars aligned! It's fascinating, all the ways we meet people and how our paths cross though out life.

Andre, you're such a natural at modeling! Though, I'm sure that's probably because you've spent many hours practicing your craft!! ;)  Best of luck to you as you visit agencies in NY! I know you'll do great in the Big Apple!!
