Mirsa is a long time friend. But for my husband, Joe, their friendship goes back even farther. Mirsa and Joe were neighbors back in college, when Joe and I were first dating. They did everything together. Went grocery shopping together, cooked handmade egg rolls together, watched the movie Elf (way. too. many. times!) together. They were both attending school on the opposite side of the country from their own families, so a special bond formed, and suddenly they were each other's family. A group of us, consisting largely of Joe, Mirsa & their surrounding neighbors, were all constantly hanging out together. Needless to say, Mirsa quickly became a close friend. Fast forward to today, after graduation Mirsa moved back to her home in Seattle, Washington and found the guy of her dreams, Jeff. He asked her to marry him, and we couldn't be happier for them both.
Pacific Coast Highway
I have exciting news!!!! I quit my day job!
It has been a long time coming. I loved my part time job working at a local Portland print shoppe, but with the new year blazing onward it soon became clear that I was meant not to print other people's photos, but to photograph and print my own.
So what am I doing now you ask?! Working, silly! And working from home to be exact! I've been working on my business and reevaluating my pricing, editing a lot, and most importantly--photographing. It is wonderful and freeing, and also a little bit scary! But I am so excited for what 2014 will bring and all of the beautiful images just waiting to be photographed!
Speaking of beautiful photographs...I just realized that I never posted our San Francisco trip pictures (from almost 6 months ago)!
So without further ado, here are just a few of the highlights from our road trip to San Francisco to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary:
In all honesty...this only covers about 2 1/2 days of our 8 day trip, haha. I didn't even get to all our city shots! If you've never had the chance to drive down the Pacific Coast Highway...it should definitely be added to your bucket list! Best. Trip. Ever!!
More city shots to come! So, stay tuned for more images!
P.S. What are your favorite trip locations? Or places you've yet to go, but have on your bucket list to visit? Comment below to let me know where you'd love to go!
Happy Travels everyone!
Words of Wisdom Wednesday
For this week's Word of Wisdom Wednesday, I urge all of you to step out of the box that is your daily routine and take a minute to explore something! Whether it's taking a day trip to the coast or researching something you've wanted to know for a while, spend some time digging into the amazing world we live in and see what you can find! :]
Today I will be exploring some new posing techniques at a senior photo session! I've been researching all week in anticipation of this post and I am so excited to put to use all that I've learned!
Comment below and tell me what you are going to explore.
Happy Wednesday!
As usual, the photo above was taken by me, Shelley Marie Photo, and designed by Bahar Creative. Enjoy!
Words of Wisdom Wednesday
At some point in our lives, we have all had big dreams. We envision ourselves doing what we love and being with the people that we love. But unfortunately, many settle for the first thing that feels comfortable, and that dream never becomes a reality. We stay in our comfort zone and give up on ever reaching our dreams.
And so, for today's Words of Wisdom Wednesday post, I thought I'd encourage you to take a leap of faith and just go for it! Do what you love, talk to the people you love, but most of all, try! It may not be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.
As always, this photo was provided by me, Shelley Marie Photo, and designed by Bahar Creative. Enjoy!
