Shauna & Michael fell in love with Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, Oregon, and decided to plan their destination wedding there. They love simplicity and wanted their wedding to focus on being with friends and family who had travelled from all around the world to spend their special day with them. They planned their wedding around Michael's Scottish heritage, using wild flowers for their florals, and the plaid from Michael's family tartan as their wedding colors. And no Scottish wedding is complete without a bagpiper! The weather in October was brisk with periods of wind and rain -- perfectly matching the theme of their Celtic/Scottish wedding! But Shauna and Michael seemed too in love to even notice, the wind only enhanced the dreaminess of Shauna's gorgeous dress, and the clouds parted just in time for their ceremony. I don't think it could have ended up more perfect.
Astoria Wedding - Fort Stevens State Park - Crista & Kevin
These two have such a special place in my heart. Kevin came into our lives a couple years ago, and over the years we have watched him meet Crista, fall in love, ask her to be his wife, and finally, marry her. They tied the knot on the edge of a sun-lit lake in Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria, Oregon. It was a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, surrounded just by their close family and friends, with a reception down a path and through the woods. Crista is naturally artistic and creative, so their whole wedding consisted of little touches of hand-crafted beauty and collected items. Friends came from all over to chip in and help make this wedding a reality. The cake was made by Crista's mom, and the food cooked by friends and family. Anne of Green Gables was one of Crista's favorite books growing up, so it provided lots of inspiration for their wedding. Mix-matched teacups and plates lined their lace-covered picnic tables, and guests enjoyed live music from a band of folk musicians. Later in the evening guests were taught how to contra dance, a favorite pastime of Crista & Kevin's. Later on, we slipped away for some couples portraits on the beach. Crista has always loved tall ships (and even spent a year traveling around the world in one!), so when we heard that a rusted shipwreck was just a mile down the road, we knew that photos with it were a must! It was the perfect day. I am so happy that we could be there to capture it, but more importantly, to celebrate with these two!! Our hearts are so full for you both, Crista & Kevin! Love you tons & congratulations!
