Meet Joe Bahar. This man is the love of my life. He supports me, loves me, encourages me, and is the sweetest, most romantic man alive. Some days I really just don't know how I got him! Today he has been blessed with the gift of Jury Duty, but that didn't stop him from planning a super romantic weekend getaway last weekend. He knows how much I love exploring the Oregon coast, so Friday afternoon we jumped in the car and headed south on a road trip to Bandon, Oregon. Joe booked the most adorable little cottage with a view of the beach from our balcony. Just a short walk through the dunes and we were at the beach, with the most beautiful, rocky views. We spent the weekend eating seafood and exploring the coast. It was a weekend for the books, and I am so thankful I get to call this incredible man my husband. I love living life with you, babe! Happy Valentine's day!
Baby's First Birthday Family Photos - Salmon Creek Vancouver, Wa.
Little Olivia turned one this past week! To celebrate her first birthday we decided to go to Klineline Pond and capture some portraits of the whole family together. Olivia broke out her Minnie Mouse ears to wear for her session, and was thrilled when a big, bright, pink balloon was brought out for photos. In all honesty, I think she was more interested in the pink tassle weighting it down, but hey, sparkles will be sparkles and tassels are exciting too. We walked along the path of Salmon creek and let Olivia pick up rocks and bark along the way -- one of her very favorite pastimes. In the end, I think it was a pretty darn cute birthday. Happy birthday little explorer!
Pittock Mansion Maternity Session
Before they had their first baby, Lindsay & Andrew met me at Pittock Mansion in Portland to capture some maternity portraits and document the last few weeks before their family of two became three. I'm not going to lie, this is one of my absolute favorite maternity sessions! Anyone who has seen my work knows that I LOVE nature-filled backdrops. So, by shooting the session at Pittock Mansion, and on a gorgeous day with fantastic light, we were already off to a great start. In my line of work I get to meet the sweetest, most wonderful people. I try to make each session I capture completely unique and fun, making my clients laugh naturally and truly feel comfortable in front of my camera. But then sometimes you get to photograph people like Lindsay and Andrew, who are just the cutest, most in-love couple, and no matter what they do they just look gorgeous doing it. As soon as Lindsay, in her stunning, flowy pink dress stepped out of their car, I knew Lindsay and Andrew were going to be one of those couples. We wandered the gardens at Pittock Mansion, captured images amidst it's natural greenery, and the photos just flowed easily. Their love for each other, and their little boy on the way, was apparent in each photo, and I couldn't be happier with how they all turned out. Thanks Lindsay and Andrew for being such wonderful clients, for trusting me when I said things like "Stand at the edge of this parking lot, I promise it will look good!" (haha, yes I actually said that), but most of all, for picking me to be your photographer. I had so much fun spending time with both of you.
Portland Newborn Photography - Baby Arlo
Little baby Arlo was just 12 days old when this session was captured. His parents came to my home newborn studio in Northeast Portland and we kept the session simple by sticking to neutral colors for backdrops, and varying Arlo's photos with a variety of hats I've collected over the years to keep in my studio. His mom and dad wore my favorite color combo: neutrals and blues. So fitting for a little boy newborn session! Arlo slept soundly as I captured all his little baby details: his pouty lips, his back wrinkles, & my favorite, those little baby toes! I just can't get enough.
