We captured Lori & Michael’s maternity session in the beautiful rhododendron gardens of Crystal Springs — one of my absolute favorite places to photograph. Fall was coming to a close, and winter felt very near. It was a bit windy, and brisk, with a light mist in the air. But that didn’t stop us from finding the beauty in every little nook of the garden! While we captured photos, leaves having already changed color, gracefully fluttered down and decorated the ground in a mosaic of colors. Lori & Michael couldn’t wait to meet their little baby girl in just a few weeks. You can just see the excitement in their faces.
Baby Santa Holiday Photos
Little baby Everett was just 11 months old around the time of his first Christmas, so instead of waiting to do a 1 year photo session, we decided to capture a “Baby’s First Christmas” session instead! Everett’s incredible mom thought ahead and ordered the cutest little Santa Clause outfit, and red knit onesie for him to wear. He loved looking at all the little ornaments, and holding them in his hands next to a Christmas tree just his size! After a wardrobe change, and a quick snack break, baby Santa was ready to try out his sleigh. Though, it quickly became very clear that little Santa was only truly happy with his trusted lion by his side. Tears ensued anytime Mr. Lion left the sleigh. So, it looks like this year Santa’s sleigh might just be lion powered. :)
To all who are reading this, I hope little Everett gave you a smile this holiday. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season, full of love, peace, joy, and smiles. Happy Holidays!!
Cathedral Park & Urban Studio Wedding
Luke & Ai had a lovely, modern wedding, surrounded by family and friends at the Urban Studio in downtown Portland, Oregon. Luke & Ai love city life, and wanted to capture Portland's charm by photographing some portraits under the St. John's Bridge in Cathedral Park. The iconic turquoise bridge was the perfect blend of Portland’s beautiful urban architecture in the midst of lush, scenic landscape. Ai had a gorgeous bouquet and hairpiece made by Annie at Floral Sunshine, which matched the natural greenery around them during portraits. As the sun set, the lights dimmed in the Urban Studio and twinkle-lights all around the room glowed romantically for dinnertime ambiance. And what Portland night is complete without some doughnuts? In lieu of a cake, guests enjoyed an assortment of doughnuts from Portland’s famous VooDoo Doughnuts.
Portland Twin Boys Newborn Session
Meet Owen & Evan. These two cuties have been hoped and loved and wished for for a very long time. When their mom and dad first contacted me, they were on a waitlist to adopt. They didn’t know how fast or long it would take to start their family, but if a baby was to come into their life, they definitely wanted to document the growth of their family. Fast forward several months later….. their mom contacts me again, with some exciting news: “We’re pregnant! And not just that….it’s TWINS!”
