Baby Freya - Portland Newborn Photography
Little Freya was just 8 days old when these photos were captured. I got to spend an afternoon in my studio with Freya, her mom, dad, and grandma, and learn all about the history of their family while shooting. Freya is such a beautifully unique name so, natually, I was curious how they picked it. Freya's dad, Robert, explained the comical story of how he initially wanted a boy. His mother is Danish so he really wanted to give his baby a traditional norse name in honor of her heritage. Thor was the intended name for a boy, but after they found out they were having a little girl, his heart swelled and he couldn't have been more happy with the surprise. In the end, they decided to name her after the norse god Thor's sister, Freya, and they've been overwhelmed with joy ever since.
Thank you Robert, Mackenzie, and Lene. It was so fun getting to know about your family.
Jena & Patrick - McMenamin's Edgefield Engagement
These two sweethearts had their heart set on some beautiful fall colors for their engagement session and, my oh my, did we time it great! We wandered our way around the property of McMenamin's Edgefield and everywhere we looked were vibrant colors and gracefully falling leaves. Jena came prepared with an adorable picnic basket, complete with an assortment of farmer's market cheeses, wine and other goodies, and the results were picture perfect. With how detailed Jena is, I absolutely can't wait for their wedding next year! Congrats you two!
Portland Maternity Photography - The Keenan Family
I'm not going to lie.... these two have a special place in my heart. These two individuals are a couple of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and to see that their family is growing just makes my heart happy. We started their session near the Portland waterfront to get some great shots of the Portland bridges in the background, and then travelled onward to Washington Park to capture Oregon's beautiful greenery. In typical Portland fashion, it even started raining towards the end of the session to truly give it an authentic pacific NW feel. Love these two so much! Thanks again Keenan family for enduring the rain with me. I had so much fun getting to know you both.
