This sweet couple just had their very first baby, and I am so excited for them!! Portland’s Pearl District is a sentimental spot for Mona & Derek, so we knew their maternity portraits should take place there. Not to mention, Mona and Derek are avid art collectors and love spending their free time exploring the Pearl’s many art galleries. Their session happened to land on First Thursday, the day of the month where Art galleries on 13th Avenue open their doors and hold a street festival for art lovers in Portland! We walked down 13th Avenue, capturing photos of Mona & Derek along they way, and finished our session just before the crowds began to arrive. The fall colors were just starting to turn vibrant, and Mona’s beautiful bright red dress looked stunning next to Derek’s blues. Just a few short weeks after this session a new member of this sweet family was born. Stay posted for photos from his newborn session, coming soon!

Amy O. - Laurelhurst Park Portrait Photography
Amy happens to be another talented young photographer here in the Portland, Oregon area. We met at a photography event a couple years back and became instant friends. Like most photographers, we love taking photos of others, but rarely get photos of ourselves! So, several weeks ago, I took Amy out to capture some updated portraits of her. I love this girl so much! She is a complete sweetheart inside and out. I truly can't even imagine her hurting a fly! And talk about bringin' on the smolder... check out that very first image! ❤ ...I die. ❤
Thanks for letting me take photos of you Amy! You were so much fun to photograph!
Baby Zarina - Portland Newborn Photography
When Zarina's mom brought her into my studio for the first time, I just couldn't contain my excitement! I knew we would get lots of beautiful images of this little cutiepie...but I had no idea that even at just nine days old she would already be on her best behavior. Simply put, little Zarina is pretty much my ideal baby to photograph. Perhaps a not-so-common fact about newborn photography is that, unlike photo shoots with older subjects, newborn sessions are filled with lots of mid-shoot feeding breaks, cuddle breaks, baby accidents, and the inevitable clean-ups that follow (after all, we are dealing with naked babies here! ;). But Zarina was by far the most well behaved baby I have ever had the privilege of photographing. She fell asleep as soon as she got to the studio, stayed asleep the ENTIRE time, and had NO accidents through out the entire session. She only began to wake up once we were packing up and saying goodbye! She was an absolute angel and as you can see, her hard work paid off, resulting in some incredible photographs for her family. If you haven't fulfilled your cuteness quota for the day, I suggest looking at the images below. They are bound to fulfill it. ;) ...Happy Tuesday!
